Description

A new, autonomous, and self-sustained Centre of Excellence, namely the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) has been established through the ‘EXCELSIOR’, H2020 Widespread Teaming Phase 2 project. The newly established centre has been created as a result of upgrading the existing Remote Sensing and Geo-Environment Lab, which has been operating within the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics of the Cyprus University of Technology since 2007.

ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence is involved in a number of collaborative research and innovation projects funded by various competitive funding bodies including Europe's Horizon, Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation, INTERREG, European Space Agency and other EU funding programmes. These projects use remote sensing and earth observation for atmosphere, agriculture, water, land, energy, and geohazards involving multidisciplinary international consortiums from both academia and industry

ERATOSTHENES NexusHub includes the provides services such as the Agri-Nexus and UVi-Nexus Hub services providing daily calculations for the crop evapotranspiration and UV indices in Cyprus
