SPace-born Identification of Clandestine Excavations using AI (SPICE-AI) will assess and validate the capabilities of AI-based analytics combined with space-borne data for the automatic detection of illegal archaeological excavations. The project will demonstrate to key stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, Public Authorities, Antiquities Departments, and International Organizations, the potential of a reliable, scalable, and operational tool for monitoring vulnerable archaeological landscapes and supporting cultural heritage protection.
