Description

NEMESIS is a Horizon Europe Mission Soil project coordinated by the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence that aims to improve soil health and combat desertification across the Mediterranean region. The project establishes a network of interconnected Living Labs in Cyprus, France, Italy, Spain, and North Africa, where researchers, policymakers, land managers, farmers, and local communities co-design, test, and upscale innovative solutions for sustainable land management. Through the integration of Earth Observation, environmental monitoring, participatory approaches, and digital tools, NEMESIS supports the development of practical measures to address land degradation, soil erosion, water scarcity, and climate change impacts. The project contributes to the restoration of healthy soils, strengthens environmental resilience, promotes soil stewardship, and supports the implementation of European and regional policies related to sustainable land management and climate adaptation.
