Description

Pre-FACED is a European civil protection project funded under the European Commission’s DG ECHO programme that aims to enhance preparedness and response capacities for wildfire and flood-related hazards through the development of an innovative Decision Support System (DSS). By integrating geospatial technologies, Earth Observation data, and Artificial Intelligence, the project will provide advanced tools to support risk assessment, situational awareness, emergency planning, and operational decision-making for civil protection authorities and disaster management agencies. Coordinated by the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, Pre-FACED brings together research organisations, technology providers, civil protection authorities, and emergency management stakeholders from Cyprus, Greece, Portugal, and France. Through international collaboration and the application of cutting-edge technologies, the project seeks to strengthen disaster resilience, improve emergency response effectiveness, and contribute to safer and more resilient communities across Europe.
