Description

SMARTPLAIGO is an innovative research and development project that aims to improve emergency healthcare response and ambulance fleet management through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), evolutionary computation, and dynamic systems modelling. Developed in collaboration with the Cyprus State Ambulance Services, the project focuses on optimizing emergency call triage, ambulance dispatching, routing, positioning, and communication between emergency responders and healthcare facilities. By creating a comprehensive decision-support platform powered by real-time data analytics and intelligent optimisation algorithms, SMARTPLAIGO seeks to reduce response times, enhance operational efficiency, and improve public health outcomes. The project uses Cyprus as a pilot case while developing solutions that can be replicated in other regions facing similar challenges in emergency medical services and healthcare management.
