Pharos-CY is the national AI Factory Antenna of Cyprus, established under the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking to accelerate the development, deployment, and adoption of trustworthy Artificial Intelligence across key sectors of the Cypriot economy and society. Closely aligned with the Greek AI Factory “Pharos” and the broader European AI Factories ecosystem, the project provides startups, SMEs, researchers, public authorities, and innovators with access to advanced AI tools, curated datasets, digital services, and high-performance computing resources, including the DAEDALUS EuroHPC infrastructure. Focusing on the thematic areas of Health, Sustainability, and Culture & Language, Pharos-CY supports the development of AI-driven solutions for genomics, digital health, climate resilience, energy, water management, transport, and the preservation of linguistic and cultural heritage. Through training programmes, innovation services, cross-border collaboration, and responsible AI practices aligned with the EU AI Act and GDPR, the project aims to strengthen Cyprus’s national AI ecosystem and position the country as a regional hub for AI innovation and digital transformation.
