Description
LandShift is a Horizon Europe project coordinated by the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence that aims to transform land-use planning and management across Europe through the development of sustainable, climate-resilient, and inclusive land-use solutions. By combining Earth Observation, Artificial Intelligence, Nature-Based Solutions, and participatory co-creation approaches, the project supports regions in addressing challenges related to climate change, biodiversity loss, soil degradation, and competing land-use demands. Through a network of Living Spaces across Europe, LandShift brings together researchers, policymakers, local communities, and stakeholders to design, test, and upscale innovative land management strategies that align with the European Green Deal and the New European Bauhaus. The project seeks to deliver practical decision-support tools and replicable models that promote sustainable development, ecosystem restoration, climate resilience, and community well-being.
