Green-HIT is a research and innovation project that develops an integrated digital platform for the monitoring, management, and protection of forest ecosystems through the combination of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, Earth Observation, UAVs, environmental sensors, artificial intelligence, and big-data analytics. The project aims to support the prevention and detection of forest fires, illegal logging, hunting, pollution incidents, and other environmental threats, while also providing tools for afforestation and sustainable forest management. By integrating data from satellite observations, field sensors, and advanced intelligence modules into a single operational platform, Green-HIT enhances environmental monitoring capabilities, supports evidence-based decision-making, and contributes to the protection and long-term resilience of forest ecosystems in Cyprus.
