Description

GreenCarbonCY is a research and innovation project that aims to support the transition towards climate-smart and sustainable agriculture through the assessment and mitigation of carbon emissions from agricultural soils. By integrating Earth Observation data, Copernicus Climate Change Service products, hydrogeological modelling, and geospatial technologies, the project develops an innovative web-based decision support system for soil health restoration, land management, and greenhouse gas emissions monitoring. GreenCarbonCY seeks to improve understanding of the impacts of climate change and human activities on soil health, while providing farmers, policymakers, and stakeholders with the tools needed to support sustainable land and water management, enhance food security, and strengthen ecosystem resilience in Cyprus.
