Corrado Alberto Sigfrido Camera has been an Associate Professor since October 2023 at Università degli Studi di Milano, and he holds a PhD in Earth Sciences, which he earned from the same university in 2012. Since June 2024, he has been the scientific coordinator of the Valchiavenna Station for the Study of the Alpine Environment, a detached facility of the Department of Earth Sciences on the territory of Valchiavenna. The Valchiavenna Station mission is scientific mediation and the development of projects for the management of hazards and risks in the mountain environment, in coordination with local territorial authorities. His main research interest lies in examining the effects of climate change on the hydrologic cycle and related processes. This includes studying surface waters, groundwater, and variations in natural processes leading to landslides. He is particularly keens on data-driven approaches, geospatial methods, and the analysis of large datasets. During his academic career, spent five enriching years at The Cyprus Institute as a post-doctoral researcher and associate research scientist. This period provided him with invaluable international experience, also on several EU funded projects, and a broader understanding of global environmental issues.
